presented by: The Ohio State University
created and performed by: Erin Alys
committee members: Tom Dugdale & Jeanine Thompson

As we replay moments from our past (either from recordings or memory) our grasp on the present shifts.
The inspiration for this solo comes from recordings of my mom as a single-woman, pregnant with her first child. The camera-operator is my dad, a hopeful film student. The anticipated documentary was never completed, as the two strangers developed their own combined story, ultimately leading to another child. That other child is me.
This solo serves as it's own performed piece of "raw footage".

*HEAR WE GO
co-created and performed with Connor Graham
self produced and directed
special thanks to Jeanine Thompson, Jess Hughes, Jacob Athyal

Hear We Go tells the story of one Mime and one Foley Artist who find themselves in an interdimensional struggle. The production invites the audience to fill in the blanks with their imagination. There are no words, just physical storytelling and sound created with everyday objects. Originally devised for the stage, Hear We Go was also adapted into a short film for 2020 audiences.

"Although short, every moment peaked my curiosity.
One of my Fringe favorites."

"This production combines the imaginative power of play and elements of mime and clowning into a solo non-verbal show that explores how, with a little imagination and acceptance, companionship can be found everywhere."
